Australia is often called the world's largest island. It is surrounded by water and has about 10 000 tracks. Australia is big enough to be their own continent, it is! Australia is in the southern hemisphere and has an area of more than 7 million square miles and ranks as the sixth largest country in the world.
While Australia began as a British colony, is now multi-cultural, including immigrants from all over the world now call themselves Australians. The population is currently around 20 million euros.
These days, the natives of Australia, called the Aborigine, represents just 2% of the total population. Aboriginal history dates back some 40 million years they lived in most of the Australian continent before the arrival of a European.
The natural wealth of Australia is incredible. 95% of the world's opals and 99% of black opal in the world. Another important Australia's exports of beef. Australia has more than 27 million cattle.
Australia, with abundant wildlife, unique flora and fauna. Two of the wild animals of Australia's most famous is the koala and kangaroo. The kangaroo is a marsupial that belongs to a group of animals called macropoda.  "macropoda means a" big foot. "Another Macropodidae from Australia to the same family that the kangaroo is a kangaroo. The largest kangaroo is the big red kangaroo, which is 2 meters high and weighing up to 90 pounds. You'll find red kangaroos in the arid red center Australia.
The koala is the animal most popular wildlife known in Australia. The koala is a mammal and not really a bear. This in fact more closely related to the kangaroo and koala in Australia. Tourists come from around the world to see and be able to take one of those little teddy bear creatures in one of the many parks in Australia.
Another strange creature unique to Australia is one of the worlds largest bird called the EMU. Its name comes from a Portuguese word "Emma", which means great bird. EMU Men can take up to 2 meters, winning the prestigious title of being tallest birds in Australia.
Australia has seven major cities and hundreds of thousands of tourists flock each year. The largest city is Sydney Australia with a population of nearly 4 million. What makes it so beautiful is its port of Sydney and surrounding waterways. Its coast is lined with beach after beach. Some benchmarks are popular Sydney Harbor Bridge, Opera Sydney and Bondi Beach. In 2000, Sydney hosted the Olympics. Sydney is a modern city full of hotels and first – class and restaurants.
South Sydney, is another modern and cosmopolitan city, known as Melbourne. Melbourne sophisticated atmosphere is filled with some of the world's best restaurants. Melbourne is the second largest city in Australia with a population of about 3 ½ million people. Also known as the sporting capital of Australia.
Adelaide is known as the churches of the city, a city is milder compared to fast lifestyle Sydney and Melbourne. It also contains restaurants and hotels first class at prices much cheaper than Sydney or Melbourne. Adelaide is also known for its great wines of the Barossa Valley.
On the western side of Australia is the city of Perth. Perth is a beautiful city that is along the Swan River, with a population of just over a year and a half million people. A residents to enjoy a very easy-going lifestyle.
The top end of Australia is Darwin, with its warm tropical climate. It is also known as alligator country and is also North Asia australiae door.
The summit of the east coast of Australia we have Queensland. Queensland has a seven wonders of the world: the Great Barrier Reef. The capital Queensland is Brisbane, which is also a dynamic and diverse city. It is also the gateway tropical islands in the north. Brisbane is a popular destination enjoyed by tourists young and old alike.
The smallest town in Australia is Tasmania, which is at the bottom of the southeast coast of Australia. It is very green and exuberant. If you like cold climates, Tasmania is the place for you. The capital of Tasmania is Hobart. Interestingly, Tasmania looks like a piece of mainland Australia.
